Composer Jonathan Newman www.jonathannewman.com visited LZHS today to work with the Wind Ensemble. The band has now commissioned 5 pieces as part of a commissioning consortium of schools led by Jim Kull at St. Charles East. Each year a composer is chosen, each school contributes to the cost of the piece and then we all premier it in the spring. This year Jonathan Newman made a trip to the midwest to work with each group on the piece and talk about being a composer.
